Sunroom Q+A: Caron Callahan

This week we're excited to share a new interview series spotlighting some of our favorite Sunroom designers. Kicking it off is the amazing Caron Callahan, a New York line of beautiful, utilitarian staples that are core pieces in our wardrobes season after season. We love the detail-driven pieces and understated femininity that surrounds her ethos — as she phrases it, "for women who love beautiful clothes but don’t need to make a fuss about them."

The Sunroom Questionnaire
Name / Location: Caron Callahan / NYC

My design ethos in three words: effortless, functional, thoughtful

I always start my day with: a gallon of coffee and snuggles from my kids and The Daily podcast from The NYTimes

Secret talent: I'm very good at forgetting birthdays. I also use to upholster my own couches.

Song I'm loving right now (or what’s your pump-up/dance jam?) "Somebody to Love" has been on heavy rotation.

Travel destination I always re-visit (or suggest to my friends): Northern Vietnam. I spent some time there a long time ago but wanting to go back. It was my favorite place out of a gap year of traveling in my twenties. Simpler vacations -  Point Reyes, Tomales Bay CA is heavenly.

Five things I’ll never travel without: Muji sketch pads, fancy pens, Benefit check stain, my cotton Greene pant goes with everything, and I love to sleep in Lauren Manoogian jersey dresses.

My mantra: Lately, "perfection is the enemy of progress."

I’m most happy when: Drinking coffee in bed in the mornings with my husband and we have no parenting obligations.
